Importing Maya Models into Games

What you need:

1. Autodesk Maya (Modeling)
2. ZModeler ver 1.07b (Importing/Exporting/Renaming)
3. ZModeler ver 2.2.4. Build 981
4. Adobe PhotoShop (Textures)
5. NotePad (to Edit tuning files)
6. WinRAR
7. MidTown Madness 2 (Test Out)

First Step:
Importing Maya Models into Games

1. Select Car Body,
2. File -> Export Selection, File Type *.OBJ
3. Rename your file as “BODY_H” & Click Export
Repeat the steps (1-3) for Wheels, Shadow & Bound

Second Step:
Importing Maya Models into Games

1. Import *.OBJ files in ZModeler 2.2.4
2. Select “Convert Axes”
3. Save File as *.3ds

Third Step:
Importing Maya Models into Games

1. Import *. 3ds File in ZModeler 1.0.7
2. Rename Objects (See Naming Rules down below)
3. Save File into [GEOMETRY] folder as *.pkg

Fourth Step:

Importing Maya Models into Games

1. Select all folders
2. Select archive format *.zip
3. Rename your file and type file extension *.ar
4. Click OK

Final Step:

Importing Maya Models into Games

Copy *.ar file in the MM2 Folder and Play, have fun with your model.

If you want you can add High Poly 3d Model into MM2 !

Naming Rules for Your 3d Model
(Car Body, Wheels, Shadow, Bound)

The Front-Left Wheel – WHL0_H:m
The Front-Right Wheel – WHL1_H:m
The Rear-Left Wheel – WHL2_H:m
The Rear-Right Wheel – WHL3_H:m
Boundary – BOUND
Shadow – SHADOW_H
Car Body – BODY_H

Folders

You will need six folders:
[aud] – Engine Sounds
[BOUND] – when we export the car ZModeler will make a file in this folder
[GEOMETRY] – Same as Bound Folder
[jpg] – ScreenShots
[TEXTURE] – Textures for your model
[TUNE] – Text files tuning & performance

Download any unlocked car from (http://www.mm2x.com, http://www.mmarchive.com)
and use the folders as template for your 3d model.

Delete everything in [BOUND] & [GEOMETRY] folders, leave this folders empty.
When you eXport, Zmodeler will generate files for you.
